Oven Baked Rosemary, Garlic and Paprika Pita Chips

Craving something crunchy? This snack helped to satisfy my crunchy cravings with pregnancy. Baking the chips help to cut out the fat and calories. Add a good dose of herbs, garlic and spices and you end up with a simple and tasty snack. Eat alone or they are great paired with a bean dip or make a great crouton for soups.

Whole wheat pitas make for a great grain choice. They supply a good dose of fiber. Just 1 serving of these chips provides: 3 grams of dietary fiber, 1.6 mg of iron, 4.8 grams of protein, and only 3 grams of fat per serving with the majority of fats coming from the heart healthy monounsaturated fats.

Make sure to evenly spread out on the baking sheet for even baking. A good dose of cooking spray before they go in the oven will help them crisp and turn a golden brown. Be sure to watch them carefully after 10 minutes for they can burn pretty fast.

So plan ahead for the week and bake these tasty pita chips for your weekly meal snacks!
