Homemade Taco Seasoning & Taco Filling

Never buy taco seasoning again with this easy and delicious homemade taco seasoning recipe. Store bought taco seasonings can be loaded with sodium, fillers, artificial flavors, dyes and other ingredients. This recipe is a very simple solution to making a healthier and very flavorful taco seasoning in as little as 5 minutes. I bet you have most ingredients in your pantry already. Make a big batch and store in glass jars for an easy dinner solution.

This taco seasoning is great added to lean beef or turkey or make vegetarian with crumbled tofu and beans. Top with your favorite fresh veggies for delicious tacos. Above I used low potassium toppings (shredded cabbage, carrots and green onions) to make this a kidney friendly dish for those having to monitor their potassium levels. However, if you do not need a potassium restriction feel free to top with any veggies of your choice.

I like to make a big batch of taco meat seasoning and store in little mason jars so I have it ready to go when needed. This seasoning is also great in soups or as a dry rub for chicken.

Did you know that using fresh spices and herbs adds vitamins, minerals and antioxidants to your diet? Chili powder and paprika are great sources of Vitamin A.

Enjoy taco Tuesday a little more healthier with this simple homemade taco seasoning!
